Whether you need help with a question, want to learn a new skill or simply want to find a great book to read, the Adult & Reference Services team can help. Our team can help you with research, technical assistance, programming, reader’s advisory and scheduled consultations.

Our Adult Collections 


Fiction Collection 
includes diverse literary classics from around the world, bestselling authors, genre favorites like mystery, romance, science fiction, and fantasy, as well as comics and graphic novels for adults.

Nonfiction Collection includes materials to aid both researchers and general readers that are curious about science, nature, technology, history, biography, philosophy, art, literature, religions, social sciences, and languages.

World Languages Collection offers numerous fiction and nonfiction titles for non-English readers.  

Media Collection offers film, music, and audiobooks.  

Digital Collection downloadable books and resources that are available to you 24/7 wherever you may be. 

Adult Events Series

We develop programming for adults that is varied and diverse, from yoga and cooking classes to concerts and art exhibitions. Virtual and in-person programs are available. Please note that virtual classes will be noted in the title.

Yoga @ FPL takes place every Monday evening at 6 p.m. Volunteer yoga teachers offer a variety of practices. Classes are accessible to all levels.   

Author Talks showcase a diverse selection of local, regional, and visiting authors. Authors discuss their process, read excerpts and answer audience questions.  Books are often available for sale with the option to get them signed by the author. 

Book Clubs are held once a month on varying days, times, and places. We have a total of seven adult book clubs. 

Intro to Genealogy is a series that assists attendees with finding out and filling in their own history. This monthly class is for those new to genealogy or new to using the genealogy resources at the library. 

Mountain Street Stage is our weekly summer concert series held in our Event Center. It features local artists.

+ Interlibrary loan services to borrow materials from other libraries.

Test proctoring 

+ Take your proctored test at FPL. We do not proctor GED testing.
