Event Center (1st Floor)

Come join us for two exciting performances of chamber music by the Khemia Ensemble.

Derived from the Ancient Greek word χημεία (chemistry), the Khemia Ensemble is a contemporary chamber music ensemble based in the United States that consists of artist educators who believe in representing a diverse range of voices in contemporary classical music. They dedicated to reflecting broader perspectives in contemporary classical chamber music by presenting engaging performances, commissioning new works, and mentoring the next generation of musicians. You can find them online here. The two programs they are bringing to the library's event center are listed below.

June 24 – Missed Connections
Presented by the KUAF/Fulbright Summer Chamber Music Series

Missed Connections, a program of contemporary chamber music for subsets of Khemia Ensemble, reflects the emotional impact of unexpected encounters and the elusive attraction that follows. The concert will explore the themes of dreams, faith, belonging, and love, inviting you to contemplate the “What ifs?” of a missed connection.

June 26 – Stillness/MOVEMENT
Presented by the KUAF/Fulbright Summer Chamber Music Series

Stillness/MOVEMENT explores the extremes of how we often simultaneously navigate the vibrant groove of life, the hollow serenity of quietude, and everything in between. The program features a mix of energetic and lyrical works of music by living composers including two Khemia commissioned works.

This event will also be available for viewing and replay via our FPL livestream page.

All abilities are welcome. For disability accommodations, call 479.856.7250 or email questions@faylib.org 2-3 weekdays before a program.
