Ziegler Reception Room (1st Floor)

Ashley Sayers and Jennifer Kick from the Rogers Historical Museum will give a presentation on Victorian mourning customs and culture.

It's not just about the black dress. In the Victorian Era rules of etiquette were followed daily, and that extended to death and mourning practices. This hybrid presentation of slides and display items will cover Victorian mourning customs from the attire one needed to wear to the funerals themselves.
