True Lit: Creating Comics with Zeke Peña (Grades 6–12) *

Join storyteller and cartoonist Zeke Peña as he teaches participants how to create their own comic book page! Students will learn the basics of crafting comics with hands-on instruction from Zeke, illustrator of the award-winning titles My Papi Has a Motorcycle and Photographic: The Life of Graciela Iturbide. Most recently, Zeke provided the illustrations and cover artwork for Jason Reynolds' Spider-Man novel, Miles Morales: Suspended.
This workshop is adaptive for all skill levels from beginner to advanced, though a basic understanding of drawing is helpful. Supplies will be provided, but seating is limited and registration is required. Registration opens September 14 at 7 a.m.
