Meet the Author: Geo Rutherford, Author of "Spooky Lakes" *

True Lit 2026

Join artist, author, and educator Geo Rutherford for a fascinating, family-friendly talk exploring the strange and surprising stories of lakes and rivers around the world.

Blending science, history, and art, Geo shares highlights from her bestselling book Spooky Lakes: 25 Strange and Unusual Lakes that Dot Our Planet and her newly released sequel, Spooky Rivers: 25 Strange and Mysterious Rivers that Snake Across Our Planet. You may also recognize her from Spooky Lake Month, her popular video series with millions of views, where she explores shipwrecks, toxic lakes, and other unusual water phenomena. Through storytelling and visuals, she brings the real-life mysteries of our planet’s waterways to life in a way that’s engaging and accessible for all ages.

This event is free to attend, but tickets are suggested. Tickets will be available starting October 20 at 7am.

Pearl's Books will be onsite with books available for purchase, and a book signing will follow the presentation.

True Lit is in collaboration with the Fayetteville Public Library and the Fayetteville Public Schools.
