This VA informational session will discuss the Medical Foster Home program for those interested in becoming caregivers or residents.
All interested in becoming a caregiver or becoming a resident are encouraged to attend this information session.
Medical Foster Homes (MFHs) are privately owned/rented residences in the community. Caregivers live in the home and perform primary duties for Veteran residents that can no longer live independently due to physical or mental health difficulties. This is a long-term arrangement where the Veteran may live for the remainder of his or her life. The MFHs are initially approved by the VA through a comprehensive application process. Monthly care includes room, laundry service, personal care, 3 meals/day, medication management, activities, 24-hour supervision and assistance with activities of daily living.
