A math group preparing 6-8th graders for competition.
In partnership with the University of Arkansas, Mathematical Olympiads for Elementary and Middle Schools (MOEMS) is an international opportunity for students in grades 6-8 to engage with mathematics to strengthen their problem-solving skills and meet with other students excited about mathematics.
Two teams will be created - one for students in grades 4–6 and one for those in 6–8. Students in grade 6 have the option of participating on either team. We will be meeting weekly to discuss general problem-solving strategies and to work on problems from competitions in previous years. These free meetings will take place from 5:30–6:30 p.m. starting Wednesday, October 19, and will continue through Wednesday, March 15. Five competitions will take place approximately once a month.
