Crescent Dragonwagon will celebrate two book re-releases, the 30th anniversary of "Dairy Hollow House Soup & Bread" and the 45th anniversary of "Will It Be Okay?", as well as her 70th birthday!
"Dairy Hollow House Soup & Bread" is Crescent's bestselling cookbook that put Ozark cuisine on the map. It includes recipes that she once served at her famed Dairy Hollow House inn.
"Will It Be Okay?" is her beloved 1978 children’s book that has been reissued with new illustrations by Jessica Love.
Crescent will reflect on how she and her writing were shaped by the region’s cooking, culture and social ecology. She’ll explore and celebrate what vibrant and engaged aging is like, especially here in Northwest Arkansas. Attendees will be invited to enjoy a slice of cake that is Crescent's original recipe and made with Arkansas Black Apples.
Winner of both the James Beard Award and the Coretta Scott King Award, Crescent is a thoughtful speaker whose Dairy Hollow House—a country inn and restaurant tucked into the Ozark Mountain resort town of Eureka Springs, Arkansas—welcomed guests from all over the world for nearly two decades. Her beloved “nouveau’zarks” cuisine established the Ozarks as a national culinary destination. Her recipes and her children’s books have stood the test of time.
Books will be available for purchase at the event.
