Please join us for a painting workshop with local artist, Shay Holloway! In this workshop, participants will follow the instructor in creating a painting that explores what it means to be a Black American. In the style of Bob Ross, Shay Holloway will lead participants through creating a piece while still adding their own personal touch and creativity.

Shay Holloway (@artgirlshay) is a multimedia artist, and photographer from Des Arc, Arkansas. She is a self-taught artist, her training coming from life and her affinity for crafts and creating. Since beginning to take her art and creative journey seriously, she has traveled to Belgrade, Serbia and participated the International Belgrade Art Salon, been a team member of a group of artists who worked to bring to life interactive structures for the Bentonville Format Festival, painted live for the Crystal Bridges Mobile Art Lab, and has had an abstract piece featured in the Walton Arts Center’s “Our Art, Our Region, Our Time” exhibition alongside 75 artists from across the region. She is also part of The Artist’s Table (@theartiststable_), a collective of artists who host monthly and bi-monthly art fairs with the goal of expanding the reach of obscure artists in the area by putting them in front of the community on a consistent basis.

Shay's inspiration comes from life and the “cosmic” moments she experiences in life leading to her signature, on-going collection of galaxy paintings—“Pure Potential”. “Pure Potential”, an ode to everything existing as nothing but pure energy until someone brings it to life in our physical reality.
