Share your writing with the world and let others build upon it, without fear of copyright infringement!

Creative Commons licenses are frequently of interest to writers, photographers, musicians, filmmakers and artists, but can be misunderstood.  This workshop will teach you about CC licenses, which allow you to give others permission to use, share, and adapt your creations in the ways you choose. Learn how to apply CC licenses to your work and how to find CC-licensed material created by others.

Instructor:  Joe Askins

Joe Askins is the Manager of Technical Services at Fayetteville Public Library.  His previous job involved work with open educational resources and presentations on the basics of Creative Commons licensing, such as how CC licenses work within the current framework of US copyright law, how and why creative artists use CC licenses to share their work, and how to find and use other creators’ CC-licensed work.
