Molly Throgmorton from the University of Arkansas Department of Research and Innovation will show workshop attendees how to effectively plan and write the budget portion of a grant proposal.
Grant Budgeting will cover the process of creating a grant proposal budget from start to finish – from an initial project idea to the final line-item proposal budget. It will go over key grant budget terms and common budgeting rules and regulations. Attendees will learn how to review the funder’s budget requirements, identify project expenses, and draft budget-related documents.
Molly has over seven years of grants experience. She first got started in the grants world as a Development Coordinator at Walton Arts Center, then moved into Research Administration and later Research Development at the University of Arkansas. In 2021, she became a Certified Research Administrator, and then was promoted to her current role of Associate Director of Research Development in 2022. In this role, she supports the University’s research priorities, brings together strong research teams, and improves the overall competitiveness of submitted research proposals. To date, her role in research development has helped investigators receive $39M in grant funding.
