Join facilitator Nic Bellegarde to practice meditation and mindfulness!
This series will teach mindfulness through meditation to help you get in touch with your body and what is going on in the present moment.
Chairs and mats will be available. Participants are invited to bring their own mat and/or a meditation cushion if desired.
According to the Dogwood Blossom Sangha website: "The focus of the practice is to cultivate the energy of mindfulness, understanding, and compassion in ourselves, in our families, in our communities and in the world. We use the teachings and practices offered by the Buddha and Thich Nhat Hanh as a guide in developing these energies. Trust in our community is the result of our own practice and experience; the focus is on practice and directly experiencing things as they are, for ourselves. All are welcome!
The Sangha’s core values are summarized by the Fourteen Mindfulness Trainings, which include:
Openness
Non-Attachment to Views
Freedom of Thought
Awareness of Suffering
Compassionate, Healthy Living
Taking Care of Anger
Dwelling Happily in the Present Moment
True Community and Communication
Truthful and Loving Speech
Protecting and Nourishing the Sangha
Right Livelihood
Reverence for Life
Generosity
True Love"
