We have partnered with CARE Community Center as a venue for free tax preparation on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and the 1st and 3rd Saturdays during tax filing season.
Fayetteville Public Library is partnering with CARE Community Center as a venue for free tax preparation on Tuesdays, Thursdays and the 1st and 3rd Saturdays beginning February 1, 2024. This is a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program sponsored by the IRS.
CARE Community Center provides free income tax preparation and electronic filing of returns, Federal and State. Most taxpayers qualify and are eligible for tax preparation services. Certified volunteers complete hours of training to ensure taxpayers receive quality tax preparation service, an accurate tax return is filed in a timely manner, and all appropriate tax credits utilized.
Appointments can be made by calling 479-246-0104 or on CARE Community Center's website at www.carecc.org. Appointment slots will start each day at 9:30 with the final appointment scheduled for 2:30. Informational tax packets will need to be completed prior to return preparation. Packets are available on the CARE Community Center website or at the library’s Help Desk.
